When did you start using reuseable period products?
Summer 2020
How many cycles did it take before you felt closer to confident in having a leak-free experience?
2–3
Do you have any comic and/or disaster experiences?
Not really! The worst experience was that the first time I tried to take out my cup I couldn’t get it and hung out in the bathroom for about 20 minutes stressing out. Turns out I just needed to take a minute and relax and the next time I tried it was super easy. 🙂
How often do you have to change your cup on a heavy day?
Every 12 hours
What is your period routine like?
I use my cup the entire time, sometimes even if I have a gut feeling my period will come, just in case.
What do you use to wash your cup with?
pH balanced cup cleanse
What’s the longest you’ve left your cup in for?
About 14 hours — I was worried about it being too long but everything was fine 🙂
How do you sanitise your cup?
Boil it between periods
Would you ever use a second hand cup?
Probably not. Luckily I have cup options that are pretty affordable so I’d rather just get my own.
How many products did you try before you found one that works for you? Which ones didn’t work for you?
I was really fortunate to get one that is perfect for me on my first try!
Do you have a favourite period product?
I use a Cora cup size 1 and love it.
Have you ever stained a mattress with period blood?
Never down to the mattress but I’ve definitely stained sheets. I use a protective sheet below my sheets which is effective in keeping my mattress clean in general and catches any leakage!
